US company Brigham Exploration announced 5 January that its State 36-1#H Bakken well in the Bakken shale in the Williston Basin, North Dakota had produced at an initial rate of 3,807 boepd.
This well is just 4 miles from Samson Oil & Gas's Gene #1 development well due to spud later this month. Check out next Sunday's Oil & Gas Weekly for this play of the month. We describe the way in which external packers have revolutionised horizontal drilling in the Bakken Shale and much much more.
The Brigham well has a longer lateral and nearology doesn't always indicate what might be on your patch but it is sure better than having a duster next door.
Samson has fallen under most people's radar but with the backing of Macquarie Bank and broking house Patersons and the shares trading at just 1.2 cents (options 0.006 cents) you have to think this is due for a run. DYOR.
