The problem is that the manufacture of solar panels, wind turbines and batteries uses so many raw materials, that mining will have to expand a thousandfold to keep up the supply of materials, mostly from China and Africa. Both use slave labour to achieve their low productivity, African children mostly. They estimate the cost of an Electric car, to be three times the carbon footprint of an ordinary car or, you can run an ordinary car for three years, and be below the carbon footprint. Another fact. If Australia was not allowed to offset its carbon signature, which is (approx) twenty tons per person with our Agriculture and Native forest, we would already be over 100 per cent neutral. Our carbon footprint is 700,00 tons (approx), and plant intake in Australia, is 900,000 tons (approx). If you include the Barrier reef, you add another 400,000 tons of intake. Why the rest of the world, is allowed to use their natural plant life and Australia is not, was because our Environmental delegation, failed to argue for it! New Zealand had its whole horticulture (animals) exempted. Norway, Sweden, and Finland are allowed to burn timber. It produces carbon, which does not count towards its footprint. China, India and so-called third world countries are allowed to do anything. Who made these rules up and why did Australia's representatives agree with those idiots!
