The announcement by the Coordinator General just before the end of May 2022, means that the Land Court Judgement stands. You might recall that the Land Court Judgement stated that that judgement would expire by 31 May 2022, if the Coordinator General had not granted consent . The OCAA are not dead. Despite being insolvent, they have said they will be back into the courts ,this time objecting to New Acland being granted groundwater access. I would expect that the Environment Defence Office, with support from Shut the Gate and others, will prosecute probono on behalf of Ms Harrison, a former resident, who is I believe an aged pensioner.. If as what has happened in each and every case over the past 14 years,ms Harrison will get standing and the case will proceed. Thus another legal saga will start. OCAA hope to drag out for another 14 years.
