COB update – 10 key takeaways, page-17

COB CEO, Joe Kadevarek, has today posted a 1 hour YouTube video filmed at the Cobalt Institute’s recent AGM and conference in Zurich.

Joe is featured at the podium and front and centre with a panel of global battery metals luminaries.

He says COB:

. Has “rediscovered” Broken Hill

. Is establishing an integrated mine/refinery with a capacity of 5000 tonnes, ranking in the global top 10

. Has 100% availability for offtake

. Will produce 17,000 tonnes of sulphate for 300k EVs a year for 20 years

. Plans to create a premium ‘sustainable cobalt brand’

. Will package a zero co2-abated product for EV makers

. Plans direct point-to-point shipment – very attractive for auto market

. Is government- backed with major project status

. Is participating in Korean and US government critical supply chain discussions

. Will integrate into the overseas battery chain

. Is collaborating to create an Australian ‘precursor industry’

. Will ship 3000 kg of cobalt product shortly

. Plans a refining ‘gate’ that will devote 30% of capacity coming from nickel mines and other sources for “more and more” cobalt units

. Will address a 100 year accumulation of cobalt, copper and other metals sitting in surface  dumps waiting to be commercialized – an environmental clean-up ‘win-win’.
