Seems that the reason for the reference price - the above transaction of 27,000T of Li for $185M. The math on that is outrageously cheap, and therefore lower tax was paid in Argentina. $53/kg is to make sure people aren't underselling their Li on paper to avoid tax.

IMO SP will bounce back accordingly, this is a blip.
