It's simple, the higher the price goes for Lithium the more attractive it is to recover from sea water. The Saudis announced they had found a way to do that, just about a year ago. I'm sure the Chinese are working on it also, although Chinese scientists perform at about the same level as Russian military. There are those who say that it can't be done on an industrial level. Most of these people say, however, that lithium can be removed from clay on an industrial level.
