I am no oil/gas expert but as far as I can make sense of it and what I have read over the last few weeks regarding core sampling is that taking cores is a crucial pre-requisite to a flow test. The fact that they have made a decision to production test and have spent the money to make it happen means to me that they have already identified that the cores have the necessary porosity required for the gas to flow. In conjunction with pressure gradient readings from various spots down the hole then they would know now whether it would flow or not.

The information from Youtube for layman is also very useful as one can see cores being taken. There are also numerous animated instruction clips on oil/gas drilling.

very useful stuff. You would not be going to this extent for a production test at this spot if you were not convinced that this is location is prime for it.
