    Invictus,

    You should recognise these lines:

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I agree with what you say but proffer comment on the following.

"Sorry to say it's exceptionally unlikely that the new money will go anywhere near the old money - that's been invested/spent/frittered away (take your pick)."

I don't know how much 'frittering' the recent management of PLT is responsible for but this much I do know. Tens of millions have been INVESTED by PLT shareholders in a product that was the brainchild 20 years ago of some very eminent gynaecologists with a passion for doing something about one of the scourges of womens' health, cancer of the cervix. That product, the result of the better part of two decades of R&D by some very capable engineers and scientists (including CSIRO) has been delivered and is far as I'm aware, deliverable now to a huge and needy market. Why sales and cash flow have not come about as expected I don't understand but I believe current management stands answerable for it. So far as we shareholders are concerned, it seems to me that PLT is today at least worth the value of the results of the R&D we have paid for and own, ie. at least the value of PLT's intellectual property (IP) portfolio. I fail to see how in the civilised society that Australia is supposed to be, that anyone's "new money" can simply be permitted to come and steal from "old money" and then proceed to generate profits from it. If corporate regulation in Australia was anything like it is supposed to be I would not be concerned about PLT's future. The regulator would take care of the shareholders' interests. But with ASIC's hopeless record of failure in the courts and elsewhere, I do despair.

So what might indeed be necessary now, is as you say, some shareholder activism, to ensure that we do not all just stand by like spectators to watch the grand larceny of our valuable asset, PLT's IP portfolio, by others who will take and turn it into the profitable enterprise it was always intended to be and pocket those profits themselves.

PLT shareholders, are we simply to be led like lambs to the slaughter or can we even yet become the masters of our own fate?
