The post was about a specific claim.
Whether you like it or not, there was a $59b debt at the start of the Labs reign (2007), and the debt was $273b at the end of there reign (Sept 2013).
________
As for Abbott, he took specific policies to the election, including Gonski, the NDIS, and the NBN, he also cut revenue and increased spending, (which made the budgets the property of the Libs). When the Libs realized they had stuffed up, they tried to bring in things that they hadn't taken to the election, and those things were given the treatment they deserved and were rejected.
Abbott and the Libs, even with increasing revenue made the budget position worse and debt increased at an accelerated rate, despite them going to the election claiming they would "stop the waste" and fix the "debt and deficit disaster".
A complete stuff up from the Libs that made the Libs budget shy for the next few years because of how badly they handled the situation.
________
If the Labs make the forward estimates debt ($1.2T) and the budget position worse through changes, then that will be on them, the same as it was on Abbott and the Libs.
