I do understand -- completely.

The Ukrainians are wanting to keep fighting. Some , not all, Ukrainians are motivated to keep fighting.
The smart ones , or at least those who know what the situation was before the invasion, have fled and are not likely to go back unless a real peace can be made .
There will be no peace as long as emotionally charged drongoes go along with the racket, in the words of the wise man Smedly
