I really don't care what the senile old fart said but that aside ...I concede Russia has made real gains in the Donbas .

However ....Ukraine after three months attack from a very much bigger and better equipped nation - once considered a super power - Ukraine still controls the vast majority of it's country .

Yes Putin has taken something ...and like Crimea will be a helluva thing to get it back but :
1.Putin and Russia have been highly embarrased by their military
2.Putin has lost forever important markets
3.Putin has scared otherwise neutral countries into the enemy camp
4.Russia has and continues to hav a HUGE dily physical cost from the war .(will take years to fully repair his army too )
5.Putin has unified and invigorated NATO as US presidents were incapable of
6.Russia has made Ukraine forever an enemy

Was the Donbas worth all that ???
