OK I have re read the relevant posts and I think I understand. We basically, live in the the "forest" We have cleared approx 2 acres where the house is. To give you an idea, I felled 450 trees from that 2 acres. A lot were over 1 metre in diameter. It took a lot of my spare time for years to do it. (what spare time?) haha The nearest piece of forest I can walk to is about 50 metres but we are essentially surrounded by forest. Safety from fire, and light for solar panels and water heating are our prime considerations. Contrary to what greeenies believe, you cant live and survive in the dark!
