    Yes Shanno...so back to original question then? that no one answered for 2 whole days.

    How does shorting facilitate a takeover for the lender? as in the process of shorting the lender does NOT have shares and therfore does not have a vote?

    (all the lending lender rent rented stuff is garbage and not the question that has been confusing the thread for 2 days)

    The answer is there would have to be another 3rd party thats actions do not rely on the $74million shares shorted.

    It could be a buy out or low price accumulation of alot of shares by someone else that is not the short lender.

    But is takeover therefore good or bad for the shorter?
    If bad...why would a short help facilitate a takeover (this is the reason for the original question, how does it benefit a short to even want to be involved during a takeover)?
