Access to the web-based software for the supplier gives them access to The marketplace, distribution and logistics all wrapped up in one. If businesses don't want to pay 5% they can choose to reduce their % by subscribing to a higher tier/offering, paying a (small) monthly fee and greatly reducing their per order % they pay, thus appealing to the big boys.
In regards to 'unique'....that could be a subjective thing, however the access to a large range of bespoke products all in one place is pretty 'unique' IMO. The user friendly platform is 'unique'. The fact you dont need people to fill out credit apps to access pricing is 'unique'. The fully integrated messaging platform between B2B is pretty 'unique'. Are DW8 providing a world first in regards to software? No, not at this stage. Are they enhancing and streamlining business processes and simplifying often resource heavy ordering process for organisations and people? Yes.
Think about social media. Who was the first to do it? Facebook? Myspace? SixDegrees? Now look at all the various platforms (and uptake) around, each one has a difference or a unique focus. Kaddy (IMO) are market leading with their vision, we just need more suppliers and a few big boys. Once that is cemented the buyers will come.
