They've had cameras out in space for decades. Anything unusual they capture is either going to be 1. space junk, 2. asteroids or 3. ET. So if they see something and it moves in an intelligent way, it's an ET intelliegence. Planes, drones, birds, balloons, swamp gas and hoaxes are automatically ruled out.
But why now? Like most people, I assume they have footage of ET craft flying around. Why not publish that instead of setting up a fake UFO task force? The USG and intelligence agencies are so far up tjheir own arses with deceit, they probably don't know which way to turn.
