Customers dont 'seem' to prefer the flexibility of mobile over landline, they "DO" The numbers speak for themselves. You just have to look at how unpopular line rental is and how many people are leaving landline in droves because better mobile deals have come along. Even companies are embracing a wireless attitude to their business.

Technology is advancing at a rate of knots as we all know, however our esteemed collegues over in the Australian Govt only have vision out to four maybe 8 years (2 terms)This NBN is going to move goal posts several times before the weight of realism is felt and some concrete is delivered. ( I am a realist, which is an optimist with the facts). You would have to be an idiot not to think everything will end up wireless and all that copper and fibre optic that lays in the groud will only be good for kids to get back outside and dig for some pocket money.

Having been closely involved with sat comms before I have to say it is literally a life saver. There is no escaping the requirement for a communications network to heavily reliant on satillites. So technology can move forward as much as it wants however if there was ever a growth industing with regards to telecommuncations, then it is wireless. Which is all good for NWT. In terms of cost. Hey 10 years it cost 12 grand for a plasma that now costs $900. I can only see the cost of have wireless NBN being more affordable as time goes on.
