Spent time in Tuvalu and islands Pacific and Indian Oceans. They are much the same as they were nearly 50 years ago (my first visit) and slightly bigger if reports are correct. It is however truly daunting to stand on the seaward beach of an atoll island and see the rollers sweep past. Truly dwarfing in fact. If you walk back into the beach and vegetation large rocks and coral chunks can be found because on regular occasion big rollers just go over the top. They always have.
SMRs are a viable long term solution and avoid excessive aggregation/centralisation of energy sources which leaves us so vulnerable to supply disruption.
