Does the spanking in gas prices overnight affect NWE today and over the short term?

I see McGowan's news re coal power stations as a positive for the climate and gas. Wind and batteries by 2030 is a bit of a dream imo. Gas can deliver today, and should be pivotal until at least the end of the decade.
The SA wind and battery program hasn't been all its made out to be, but the wind available for capture from the west coast would be far more reliable I would think?
