looks very much like OZL were consolidating their business at the time and a (relatively) small nickle arm was too much outside their core business to sustain with suppressed nickle prices.
OZL's share price had tumbled from $40 to ~$5 and they needed all the cash they could to exploit exploration in their main business in copper/gold deposits. easy to see why they sold out. if it wasnt a cash cow it needed to go
