You're looking at it in a very negative way but those same 'games' are played for sp appreciation.

Every stock has MMs.
It's their job to provide liquidity.

If they weren't providing such depth you'd probably not have been able to buy your current holding.

You'd also more than likely be 'stuck' in that position if you wanted to sell.

These guys have mop up those shares even if they know the sp will decline.

So yes, it sucks when you're on the wrong end of it but these guys have to make something to make it worth their time and capital.

Unfortunately most of their money is made from deception but if you devote enough time to learn how it all works you can hopefully be on the right side of things more often than not.

The share market can be brutal and too many new investors risk way too much without proper understanding of the mechanics of it all.

There's a reason I'm keeping an eye on BNL but it hasn't shown me it's ready yet so I have to keep employing one of the hardest 'skills' to perform in markets - patience.

This stock has certainly tested that but it's not dead yet...
