Sitting in front a laptop in retirement, watching the order book and course of sales in PNV? It’s a hobby I suppose. Give me another chance to be wrong … I bet you didn’t work in trading financial market instruments. If you did, you’d know that it is a lot more difficult to extract anything meaningful from just casually watching. Things happen a lot faster in execution and are a lot more complicated than you think.

Also to clarify one of @Dogzrules interpretations of what I’d written earlier, I didn’t say buy and hold investors don’t contribute anything, I said they don’t contribute to price discovery… if you never trade, then you aren’t making prices for other people to assess. Private equity is a good example… price discovery doesn’t happen until they sell out or attract a new investor in a funding round. The market still needs buy and hold investors, just like it needs people to make prices and supply liquidity. Having diversity of investors and traders is a sign that your stock is healthy, even with the shorting, which will moderate if the price is right and the company executes on its plans.
