I would think they would be looking at UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene, or "Umpy" as its pronounced in the game) lined steel pipe, No welding as it would be flanged joints.
This way it will handle the pressures required, (which will be significant unless they to have booster pump stations along the line, which is not inconceivable) and will also give superior wear resistance, (about 15x better than steel) and also reduced friction loss through the pipe system due to its uniquely smooth surface.
It aint cheap but its the ducks nuts, and would offer the best bang for buck on a long life project like this, in my opinion, but happy to be corrected when we get to see the big reveal in the December BFS.
