Besides the quote attributed to Greg Miller of Benchmark Mineral Intelligence (in above post) -

"“Last year, AVZ said it paid Dathomir Mining Resources Sarl US$20million for its remaining 15 per cent stake in the project, taking its total shareholding to 75 per cent. The company, owned by long-time Chinese investor in the Congo Cong Maohuai, sued in the Congo to annul the deal and won. AVZ'ssubsidiary is appealing against the decision, according to Miller.”

    - there is another article apparently originally from Bloomberg News which Michael J Kavanagh has signed off on that makes a very similar statement about Dathomir Mining Resources SARL.

I'm confident Greg Miller works for Benchmark Mineral Intelligence and Michael Kavanagh works for Bloomberg News (because I checked the names of each man along with their respective organisations in search engines and they overlap as expected)- so if these men are making statements that are substantially the same I think its further evidence that the content of what they are saying is likely true - especially if the AVZ has not stated anything that contradicts what they are saying.

Chinese, Australian investors battle for largest lithium deposit

Date 23 May 2022. Reference to Bloomberg News is near top of article

Near the end of the article above the statement "By Michael Kavanagh, with assistance from Annie Lee", is this -

"Thedispute with Zijin isn’t AVZ’s only shareholder battle over theownership of the lithium deposits. Last year, the company said itpaid Dathomir Mining Resources Sarl $20 million for a 15% stake inthe project, bringing its total shareholding to 75%. Now the company, owned by longtime Chinese investor in Congo, Cong Maohuai, has suedin Congo to annul the deal. AVZ’s subsidiary is appealing. "

Unlike the quote attributed to Greg Miller this doesn't explicitly say that Dathomir won - however that AVZ's subsidiary is appealing suggests that a decision was made that did not go AVZ's way which would be consistent with AVZ not winning.

If both Greg Miller and Michael Kavanagh formed their views entirely on statements but not actual evidence provided by Boatman Capital for instance without themselves checking to have a basis for their statements then that would be surprising to me.

In my opinion statements about court findings (that some party has won and another has lost and or is appealing) by professionals like Greg Miller (a mining analyst) and Michael Kavanagh (a bloomberg reporter) should be able to be relied upon as being probably backed up by something solid like documents from courts or otherwise solid sources. The DRC is French speaking (I'm not) and may not as a developing country have court documents readily accessible to those not in country or perhaps even to those who are and who are not parties or representatives.

I do not know for a fact that what Greg Miller and Michael Kavanagh assert is true is true.

I'd like to see court or tribunal documents in support of asserted statements about what the court or tribunal found if they are available in the public domain. But I don't know if they are.
