Thanks MS. I am pretty passionate about the coal sector in Australia, particularly the QLD coal sector.
The sovereign risk being added on a daily basis by the current QLD state government is truly concerning. The average punter on the street just doesn't understand how reliant the state is on the resource sector, in particular the coal sector. I truly fear for future greenfield and brownfield development projects in QLD, not just in coal but across all commodities. The current coal royalty increase is just one of a plethora of examples of the QLD state government not just moving the goal posts, but completely changing the game we are playing. To cap it all off the current QLD Minister for Resources has the audacity/arrogance/ignorance to say that the current state budget is great for the resources sector, you couldn't make this stuff up.
