Na not at all, you'll find that rational thought was well underway, a simple study of Thomas Aquinas will proof this plus science was also long underway before the reformation and the enlightenment, but what the enlightenment did was to separate it and made it into force of its own, as the CC had its own concept, the Reformation produced another concept of doing things and Enlightenment came out with yet a different concept altogether away from religion.
