Nice one. I visited a long time ago - very picturesque place.
If I was going to site I'd ask about:
1. Blending strategy between Avebury and Viking sides of the deposit. Avebury is clean but Viking As is relatively high and pervasive. What happens if the Avebury side is mined too extensively (no one is immune to finding easy tonnes to reach month /quarterly/ year end targets!).
2. Number of mining areas needed to achieve the blend and the lead time for diamond drilling for each (ie capital and timing). If ever there is a mine that needs a well thought out mine plan and excellent schedule adherence, then this one is it imo. Grade control as you said is super critical - need it well in advance of the stoping schedule - which I suspect you know costs bigger $ - certainty always costs extra.
3. Does the Hartree offtake agreement allow +5000plm and if so, do the discounts start to ramp up significantly if exceeded? Not sure if they'll reveal too much - usually black box stuff but worth asking. Finding out when MgO kicks in for discounts would be useful too.
4. Plant front end reliability - will the front end be reconfigured to a proper design? When I visited rock bolts were coming out of the crusher onto a long fast moving belt which kept getting ripped. The tramp metal magnet was at the other end!
Enjoy your visit. There is a top notch mining museum in Zeehan with an impressive minerals collection from around the globe. Well worth a visit.
cheers
