@picastoc, @Margaret63, @Joannie - I am going to post one more photo of my 'once-upon-a-time girl' dressed up as a Medici Princess, aged 12 - I made the costume. The home was the first home my hubby renovated - initially a simple workman's cottage with central corridor, separating 2 rooms on each side - the lean-to for everything else - - she is standing in the newly enclosed front verandah -
Ginger tom was called 'Katzi' later amended to 'Dayan' because he became one-eyed and had an eye-patch for a while - someone had taken a pot shot at him . . . lived a long life though




and the second picture is an image from a painting called 'Spring' by Botticelli - also from the period of the Medicis - The model for this painting was the very young mistress of one of the Medici princes, maybe even the 'Great' one. It seems to me our modern longer hair styles resemble those flowing locks a bit.
