And even if they did own Schiffloads of the stuff it wouldn't make one iota of difference, because Russian gold is effectively worthless.

And if they did sell it to the Chinese, it would have to be transported thousands of miles under guard, melted down and re-hallmarked. Very expensive, so the Chinese would have to acquire it bargain-basement rates.
