I do understand the lack of housing , and yes at the moment the landlords are winning, when interest rates were 17% the government didnt help landlords...

If the government wants to control rents, then should they control the spending habits of those who cannot affprd the rents , like a basics card?? Why can some people afford the rent and others not ?? It is not responsible to control the rise, without controlling the budget of those that cant afford.
Some put a jumper on when its cold, othersput on a 2000 watt heater , get a masive power bill, and cant pay rent..

This issue is a very complex one and is not just 1 thing...
