The only choice they had was to hold and hope the price went up or sell now and maybe get a tax effect.
WIN is not paying dividends, are they likely to pay 35c of dividends in the life of their mines? if not then simple business decision to sell.
If WAM knew that the price was going to collapse by as much as it did maybe they wouldn't have bought in.
Who here posted before the transaction went through that the market was going to go down more - hindsight is easy.
