If you think that there will be a viable, never mind profitable, IO operation at the Simandou site anytime in the next 100 years then you need your head read... There is no infrastructure in the area, no roads, no port, no rail, no housing, no medical facilities, no financial structures, no legal certainty, no access to capital, no political certainty, no available labour - skilled or unskilled and no account taken of the appalling prevailing weather conditions..
China is either bluffing on this hopeless endeavour or shockingly naive... in either case it matters not to us as FMG holders.
Let the Chinese learn what the British, the Belgians, the Dutch, the Portuguese, the Italians, the Americans, the Germans, the French and the Turks discovered about Africa over the last 600 years.. Africa is the place where capital goes to die and where all turns to dust...
