It won't stop, only way to deal with it are to gain some utility out of it via humor or pure amazement - alternatively ignore the tragic being.

Re participation in PDI's share purchase plan - not surprising that reported low participation rate given economic context. I decided against participating, instead taking chomps at dips in SP. I believe there is the possibility of SP bargain opportunities ahead, all things given, before the next MRE. Anyway, good luck to all holders in this great company & the emerging beast.
