Even if you are some die hard "Ukrainian" over there waving the flag, if Ukrainian soldiers in your town start hiding in the bushes out the front of your house and your house gets flattened and family killed who do you blame in your head? You know your house wouldn't have been directly targeted otherwise. As much as it was a Russian missile that did the damage you can understand that it wouldn't have happened without these soldiers hiding in front of your house making YOU an enemy combatant.

I assume a person like this thinks Russia shouldn't be there regardless and can still mostly blame them but sheesh. Then when the Russians take over your region you have to worry about the Ukrainian military just blindly targeting your house again as they flee or hold another part of the city. So if your house wasn't destroyed by a Russian missile there is a very good chance Ukrainian military could flatten your house. Conflicted thoughts of the citizens no doubt because how can you support your own military acting like that?

I don't think Russia is going to have much effort convincing those still around after this is all done that they are in charge. And even if Russia flatlines the rest of Ukraine the recovery effort of rebuilding will do wonders to Russia's economy. Could see a 20-30% jump in 2023 over 2022. Most of what they need to rebuild they have the natural resources in ample supply so sanctions won't matter.
