Yes Freo has some nice old homes. Anyway my husband almost had a seizure when I suggested moving from our burb house to another. My beloved youngest daughter and her family are moving here to live in Sept, near to where we are

So I carry on trying to make it look like an older mediterranean style home. Mosaics and now our wrought iron gates are turquoise haha.
My neighbour is a bit grumpy now he is getting older, he says it looks like a wogs house lol.

I lifted some pavers along the drive a few years ago and bought some small olive trees, I kept removing the side shoots until they were about 6ft tall and have trained them as standards. I think there are about 12. Now he is saying he doesn't like them, he keeps getting our house sitter/friend to trim them back on his side. They fruit as well.
If he poisons them, we will fall out.

He detests cats, we had 2 beauties and he threw a log at the male one and broke his leg, poor thing. Husband wanted to bump him off,(the cat that is) no bloody way. It cost $4,000 for the vet to fix it. He admitted a few years later to husband that he did it.
Then the same cat got poisoned, we heard him howling a bit in the night, but they do that if they catch a mouse. So when we got up he trotted round to the door when we opened it, looked at us and dropped down dead! We then brought the female one up the farm, sadly she died a few weeks ago, she was 17, I miss her. But will not be getting any more cats.
