Yes, your observation about the Greens is an important one.
It sounds like the Greens are taking a pragmatic view about carbon reduction - yes, they want more aggressive emission reductions, but they are starting to realise that politics is about comprimise, and if they want to avoid a stalement (which is what we have at the monent), a temporary more moderate deal would break the impasse.
Remember, if the Greens and Labour do a deal on carbon reduction, it will pass.
Of course, the large players in the energy sector will have already realised (a long time ago), that we are heading for a lower carbon economy at some stage. This is why ESG is in the play.

Santos know which was the wind is blowing. And so do others like Origin, AGL and BG.
