If you bought shares yesterday, you don't own them till settlement which is after 3 days. Due to a public holiday on Tuesday, it would be 4 days in this case. We are not disputing that fact. If you bought today you miss out.
What I'm saying is what happens to the people who sell today, and in 4 days time don't own the shares. i.e. Settlement occurs on the 28th, therefore they are not on the company register on the 29th.
I called a couple of brokers who had no idea. One of them even said if you buy today you "might still be entitled". Told him that was wrong, so he said I should call ASX or the share registry.
