Well GT. Here is my unprofessional take on things.
Around 1.5 million shares were put on the buy side a little ways back. This was topped up again after the initial offers were taken earlier today.
So, along with the sell down bot from a few days back, a case can be made to say that someone (well informed or otherwise) has shaken some trees and today, finally reaped some lovely cheap AAR plums.
Another case can be made to say that someone knows something and that is why they got out today.
I tend to think that the first option is just as likely as the second option. Maybe even slightly more so.
But your 'fly on the wall' thought is totally understandable and serves to remind us all that management continue to treat AAR as though it was a private company.
Any company that tells you on their website that news on a certain aspect of their/our holdings will be known in early Dec and have still said absolutely nothing a month and a half later, must be considered arrogant, slack or both.
When we bear in mind that management have told us that they will improve their accountablility to shareholders, how they couldn't find the time at some point in the past six weeks to say that there had been a delay of some sort, to my mind, is unprofessional and bordering on inexcuseable - especially when we remind ourselves that they could find the time to update the website re. the RUI Explorers Conference coming up in late FEB!
I believed management when they told me that they fully intended to improve communications with both shareholders and the market at large and I apologise to everyone for previously giving HC readers a bum steer on this issue.
Separate to whether any upcoming announcments are good, bad or indifferent (hopefully good), I now know that management cannot be trusted to look after 'our' best interests. If we happen to make some money along the way, we will simply be fortunate that we happened to still be holding shares in 'their' company.
