I have checked the ASIC website and note that at this stage the application made is to reserve the company name. It would appear that the company has not yet been incorporated though no doubt this is only a formality. They could have already purchased a shelf company whose name can be changed to the name reserved.
It would be possible to conduct a search of the document lodged for reserving the name to find out who has lodged it on behalf of Petrobras. You would need to wait for the actual Australian Company Number (ACN) before a search could be conducted to identify the directors and shareholders if you were so inclined. I don't think we need to go any further though bcos it seems pretty clear what will happen.
Will this new company be the farminee that will be entering into the farm-in agreements? If so, we may have to wait several days longer until the ACN has been issued.
