Back in August of this year, GBG start to "bottom out", and for the past few months has been caught in a sideways trading pattern. For most "traders", this stock would not have been of any interest as there was little liquidity and little volatility.

When a stock like this does trade in a tight range, it does mean that when it finally does "break out" of this range, it will do so in quite a violent fashion. I use technical analysis to search for stocks to trade where as siamese uses fundamental analysis. It was his comments on GBG that caused me to put GBG onto my watchlist. I read a bit further and while I am no expert on mining stocks, I liked the fact the company had good prospects and the fact the shares had formed such a large base, from a technical perspective, I knew that once the stock moved, there was a good chance that it would move quickly. SP stated a few days ago "why not get in now @ 0.07" - for me, I needed the stock to break out of its range and yesterday it did that. I was watching it closely so I was lucky enough to get in @ 0.075, which is exactly the price I said it would need to get to on volume should I get in - I needed for it to move out its sideways range.

If you are using end of day data and only saw this last night, a search of outperforming stocks for the day would have had GBG on its list. It finished @ its high for the day on well above average volume. Any charts analyst will agree that yesterdays price action for GBG is quite exciting - could be the makings of a cup and saucer/cup and handle formation - it will depend on price action over the coming weeks.

If you go back and read SP's post, you will see he is speaking purely from a fundamentals point of view. "Investors" find good quality stocks that they feel have good "value" @ low prices when nobody else loves them, while "traders" (i say this very loosely as well - generally short-mid term chartists) tend to move once the smart money has already entered the stock and they see liquidity and volatility coming back.

I was watching the trading in GBG and there was a lot of emotion - people had obviously been watching it, waiting for something to happen. 21 & 50 day MA's, OBV and MACD all look great for GBG. Should be an interesting time ahead for GBG.

By the way, thanks Siamese for putting this one on my watchlist. Obviously its only one day's trading, but still a handsome profit.
