a lot of issues are poll driven. it could be that rudd simply saw a poll issue, and focused on Kyoto etc. after all the ipcc report won the noble peace prize, and al gore won the noble ignoble award (or something like that) for his movie .. mm maybe watso is all confused, and al gore won 20 grammy's etc.
watso assumes that the lab party are frantically polling the electorate, to see if the issue is worth chasing, and we might find that the matter is not the most morally challenging issue of our time.
