“Add Witness Intimidation to the List of Potential Jan. 6 Charges Against Trump"

It might look like there are two unrelated storylines unspooling in the wake of Cassidy Hutchinson’s devastating testimony at the January 6th committee’s sixth hearing of the summer on June 28. The first is the claim being advanced by allies of Donald Trump that she is lying when she says she was told of his angry conduct in his limousine when he could not go to the insurrection. The second is the question of whether she was the victim of witness intimidation because of veiled pre-hearing messages that she received from Trump’s orbit.

In fact, they are the same story. The right-wing attacks on her testimony appear to be unfounded— which would make them the post-hearing continuation of the intimidation that may have taken place before she testified. DOJ must investigate under the federal witness intimidation statute, 18 USC 1512(b).

A good cop/bad cop scenario looks to have unfolded. The “good cops” are those passing messages apparently attempting to shape testimony in advance. On the flip side, break away and you’re viciously attacked by known partisans like Ornato—and by Trump himself. Following Hutchinson’s explosive testimony, Trump dismissed her as a “whack job,” stating that an unspecified group of “patriots” had “said bad things about her.” He continued to direct his fire at Hutchinson over the weekend.

Don’t underestimate how overwhelming such a campaign likely is for a 26-year-old woman who, however accomplished, is still at the start of her career professionally and in her political party.

Hutchinson’s case should sound familiar. It mirrors what Trump has done to others, most prominently Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen. As the Mueller Report found, Trump apparently conveyed reassuring messages before Cohen cooperated, then “turned to attacks and intimidation” once Cohen began to cooperate with the Trump-Russia investigation.

The legal experts are suggesting that normally some thing like witness tampering is some thing prosecutors act on with urgency because of the potential of interfering with on going investigations. Was a long weekend in USA so see if any development happen in the near future

“Fulton grand jury subpoenas Giuliani, Graham, Trump campaign lawyers

The Fulton County special grand jury investigating potential criminal interference in Georgia’s 2020 elections has subpoenaed key members of former President Donald Trump’s legal team, including his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, according to copies obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In addition to Giuliani, those being summoned include John Eastman, Cleta Mitchell, Kenneth Chesebro and Jenna Ellis, all of whom advised the Trump campaign on strategies for overturning Democrat Joe Biden’s wins in Georgia and other swing states.

The grand jury also subpoenaed U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), one of Trump’s top allies, along with attorney and podcast host Jacki Pick Deason.

The subpoenas were filed July 5 and signed by Fulton Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, who is overseeing the special grand jury. They noted that all seven people were “a necessary and material witness” to the investigation.

The 23-person special grand jury has heard testimony in recent weeks from a parade of witnesses, including some who had direct contact with Trump and his associates in late 2020 and early 2021. But Tuesday’s subpoenas are the closest jurors have gotten to the Trump campaign or inner circle of the former president.

“Former deputy press secretary for Trump to testify at an upcoming January 6 committee hearing

(CNN)Sarah Matthews, who served as deputy press secretary in the Trump White House until resigning shortly after the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, has been subpoenaed by the House select committee investigating the insurrection and has agreed to testify at an upcoming hearing, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation.

Matthews has been subpoenaed to testify at a public hearing as early as next week, sources tell CNN.

Matthews resigned the night of January 6, 2021, saying in a statement that she was honored to serve in then-President Donald Trump's administration but "was deeply disturbed by what I saw." She added: "Our nation needs a peaceful transfer of power."
