Now, as you well know, the release of announcements and 4c's etc is not for the benefit of shareholders. I am not sure why we seem to continually profer views that these announcements are for our benefit.

The release of these statements are (and should be) to satisfy dislosure or other obligations. The company should be focussed on meeting its obligations, making sure what it says is accurate, well framed and clear and of course progressing their work as they say they will to meet expectation that have been set.

These announcements and 4c's are not released to increase shareholder comfort or value....that is just (hopefully!!) a consequence of the information being announcemed or released, but shareholder 'comfort' is not and should not be the purpose for releasing information.

I do find it somewhat perplexing that (some) people on these forums seem to think announcements are because companies are wanting to commmunicate with, or even placate, shareholders.

When trying to keep shareholders 'comfortable' becomes the reason a company releases an announcement - that is when we will all know we have a problem, and we have all seen plenty of those over the journey.
