Well, I sold RCY yesterday, at a moderate profit. I am now convinced, after recent media discussion here in Brisbane, that this will go the way of many other toll roads.

Brisbaneites - including me - hate paying to use roads that they feel they've already paid for in the exorbitant registration we pay here for our vehicles.

And at $4.30 each way for the Clem7 tunnel, it is going to be a big ask for most locals. Sure, commercial vehicles may well use the tunnel, but existing toll roads, such as the Logan Motorway, are grossly underused. And that is cheap compared to the Clem7 tunnel. Then we will have the Hale Street (sorry the "GoBetween") bridge - yet another toll, the Airport link tunnel - another toll, and the Northern Link from Toowong - yup, you guessed it - another toll.

I have serious doubts of the viability of all these tollways, and suspect they could end up the same way as the Lane Cove tunnel in Sydney - in administration!
