One last thing, and I don't mean to be facetious, but this thread is by no means the golden standard of charting threads. There are several different philosophies being interpreted at various skill levels here. I don't claim to be the holy one by any stretch but I can't make much sense from 90% of these overly complicated posts.

Applying a bullish trending model in a sideways base pattern, elliot wave theory, charts with a dozen emas (which one are we deciding to respect today?), trend lines penetrating through candles on low time scales as if to predict future movements..

If you want an actual investment model which leverages an unsophisticated but highly credible (and logical) technical model for market exposure then I'd suggest at least looking at Stan Weinsteins book. Its high time frame signals are designed to harvest the meat of moves from only the strongest stocks. No one was ever worse-off for understanding more about a subject.
