Hey slick, like your gear too. You're right, William O'Neill originally described the cup and handle as a bullish continuation pattern but it can also be a reversal pattern after a downtrend, particularly if momentum is slowing leading into the pattern. What I showed on my first chart but not the one above is a triple bullish divergence on the RSI which shows just that.
