Drill access and drilling is planned to commence in the coming months over the project, which was previously known as the Pilbara gold project and is along trend from gold-bearing anomalies consistent with those at Capricorn Metals’ producing Karlawinda project.
Peregrine Gold (ASXGD) has also carried out soil sampling at E52/3828 that is located east-southeast of tenements E52/3785 and E52/3850 that host the three prospects.
It sampled 338 sites and collected 19 stream sediment samples from the licence, which is dominated by colluvial quartz material with sheared Fortescue sediments present.
Additional soil sampling at Tin Can was terminated due to soil dampness with soil sampling now underway to the northwest and adjacent to the prospect.
The company has also been granted the E52/3951, E52/3952 and E52/3953 licences and has carried out reconnaissance stream sediment sampling over 67 sites with results expected early in the December 2022 quarter.
Previous limited exploration at the project has been focused on other metals such as iron ore.
This is despite the tenements containing several overlooked anomalies that warrant further investigation.
Other projects
Peregrine has also completed reconnaissance stream sediment sampling over 69 sites and collected five rock samples at the Rocklea gold project.
Detailed geological mapping and rock sampling of anomalous catchments is planned in the coming quarter as historical sampling and recent sampling has identified numerous gold anomalous catchments.
It is planning to carry out comprehensive reconnaissance sampling focussed on stream sediments and rock chips for the newly granted Pilgangoora North lithium project – E45/5775, and is expecting an interpretation report in the coming weeks which will highlight Hemi and nickel-PGE targets at its Mallina gold project.
Pilgangoora North is located within a favourable geological setting with multiple lithium occurrences along strike from Pilbara Mineral’s Pilgangoora Lithium operations.
Meanwhile, its Mallina project actually makes up one of the largest tenement holdings within the highly prospective Mallina Basin with three of the four tenements applied for before De Grey Mining made the ground-breaking Hemi discovery.
