Also, what ports does your notebook have (as well as what ports does your receiver have).
If you don't know (should be listed on the box or in the manual), take a picture of the 'holes' (aka ports, lol) on the notebook and the end of the cables on the television box and post them.
Most notebooks these days have hdmi, so if your tv has that capability, it's easy. You just need a cable.
