If you want the banking business simply use the cash to buy ANZ. Banking is best in the big leagues, SUN is just sub scale like BOQ and BEN. Makes sense to demerge it and trade at a higher multiple as an insurance company (that’s better ran than IAG).
We hold a little SUN. I’m happy with the move. Look forward to a capital return/special dividend.
