From the faq on the FIRB website terry:
'Q8. How long does it normally take to get a decision?
Residential real estate applications which meet the eligibility criteria will generally be finalised within a short period of time ............. However, all other applications are more complex in nature and may take up to 30 days to examine and up to a further 10 days to advise the parties of the decision. In rare cases, that time period may be extended by a further 90 days if necessary.'
It all depends when the application was/will be submitted, which is one of the unknowns. Perhaps the application to register a business name with ASIC, by a potential farminee, was part of that process.
