Brandan sent out an email on the consolidation and there is a conference call tonight explaining it.
It was done to get the best OTC market listing in the USA market. There are three OTC market levels in the USA and the top level is the most liquid and prestigious. The stock price had to be over a certain level to get the listing (they don't take into consideration the market cap).
